Our Story
We first met at Kirat’s cousins wedding in September of 2023, where we were introduced by Kirat’s sister-in-law Tripti who secretly took the initiative to make me a part of their family (haha). After some investigation Tripti confirmed I was single and let Kirat know- he was in the clear to make his move. We texted for a few days before meeting and we both went into our first date never expecting to make things “official” by our third date! You know the saying, “when you know you know” that’s the best way to describe how we felt meeting each other and how easily everything fell into place.
By January of 2024, we celebrated our Roka ceremony surrounded by our loving family and friends. The Roka ceremony holds a deeply special place in my heart as a Sikh bride-to-be. It marks the beginning of a beautiful journey, not just for me and my fiancé but for our families as well. Traditionally, the Roka is the first official step in our wedding process—a joyous celebration that signifies our families’ blessings for our union and a commitment to each other. Dressed in intricate traditional attire, with loved ones around, the ceremony is intimate yet profoundly meaningful. It starts with prayers and blessings, seeking Waheguru’s guidance and grace for the path ahead. My family and his exchange gifts, sweets, and good wishes, symbolizing the merging of two households.
Now, as we get ready to celebrate our wedding celebrations in Mexico, we are so excited to have you be a part of our special moments!
